PURPOSE:To secure the highly accurate track width by providing a nonmagnetic film between 1st and 2nd magnetic films and at a position near an action gap and using said nonmagnetic film to separate the 2nd magnetic film at the action gap part. CONSTITUTION:The 1st magnetic film 2 and 2nd magnetic film 6 are formed on a substrate 1 via a gap member 5. A gap surface 4 is equal to one of two sloping surfaces formed by both films 2 and 6. Then a nonmagnetic film 3 which functions to separate the film 6 is provided between both films 2 and 6 and at a position near the upper side of the surface 4. A protecting film 7 is provided on the film 6. In other words, a core consisting of two right and left magnetic films sandwiching the surface 4 is narrowed with formation of a groove 9. Furthermore the accuracy of the track width TW affects only the production accuracy of the film 2 owing to the film 3 set on the surface 4. Thus the accuracy of the width TW is improved. |
