PURPOSE:To realize both a phase modulation and a rotary phase shifting action through just a rotary phase shifter, by calculating the two control inputs of the rotary phase shifter with a modulating signal and two control signals. CONSTITUTION:A difference (X-SY) between the X input and the value obtained by multiplying the Y input by a modulating signal S is applied to the input VX of a balanced modulator BM1. While a sum (Y+SX) of the Y input and the value obtained by multiplying the X input by the signal S is applied to the input VY of a balanced modulator BM2. Thus a voltage vector is formed by synthesization of voltages VX and VY. The voltage vector can be shifted by varying the size of the signal S. |
