PURPOSE:To enable recording of a high-density picture by somewhat shifting a jet position of ink drop from under-mentioned electrodes, by a method wherein a given high-voltage pulse is applied to an electrode in a desired position in an ink jet port, and simultaneously, a small high-voltage pulse is applied to either of adjoining electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic acceleration type ink jet recorder records such that a large number of electrodes 3A-3E are mounted at the inside of an ink jet port 1 of a recording head, and ink in the jet port 1 is selectively jetted through the selective application of a high-voltage pulse between said electrodes 3 and an electrode 4 at the side of a recording paper 5 corresponding to a picture signal. In said ink jet recorder, a given high-voltage pulse (for example, a voltage crest value is 2kV, and a pulse width is 300mus) is applied to the electrode 3 in a desired position, and simultaneously, a high-voltage pulse (for example, 0.5kV, 300mus), having less crest value or less pulse width than that of a high-voltage pulse in which ink is jetted to either of adjoining electrodes 3, is applied. Then, ink is jetted at a spot which is somewhat displaced in a position from the former electrode to the latter electrode. |
