<p>A cartridge (15) containing a flexible magnetic recording disk (20) provides for simultaneous transducer access to both sides of the disk. The cartridge (15) is formed of similar symmetrical halves (16, 17) which allow use of the cartridge in either of two positions. Symmetrical shutter mechanisms (7, 8) in both sides of the cartridge are opened by insertion of the cartridge into a drive to expose transducer openings (9a, 9b) and a disk drive openings (10a, 10b). The disk (20) is sandwiched between two Bernoulli plates (18a, 18b) and mounted on two hub units (24a, 24b). The hub units comprise two cylindrical bosses which pass through the drive opening of the Bernoulli plates. Notches (27a, 27b) on the plates (18a, 18b) engage with pins (28a, 28b) on the halves (16, 17) and accurately locate and position the plates (18a, 18b).</p> |
