<p>A ceramic honeycomb filter, suitable for removing fine particles contained in exhaust gases of internal combustion engines and the like, is formed of a ceramic honeycomb body (1) having a plurality of channels (2) extending from one end face (4) to another end face (4 min ) of the body and sealing members (5, 6) fitted to the said end faces of the ceramic honeycomb body, which sealing members have sealing portions (5A, 6A) which block given channels at the end faces of the ceramic honeycomb body but do not block remaining channels opening at the same end face. The filter is produced by fitting the sealing members (5, 6) to the ceramic honeycomb body (1) and, preferably, bonding them thereto by means of an adhesive.</p> |
