Olivacine derivatives and their therapeutical use.

The new olivacine derivatives correspond to the formula: <IMAGE> in which: R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, alkylamino or aralkyl group, substituted or otherwise, or nothing and in the latter case the nitrogen atom at position 4 is not quaternised; R1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, alkylamino or aralkyl group, substituted or otherwise; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkoxy or hydroxyl group; with the exception of the cases in which, simultaneously, R1 = R2 = H irrespective of R on the one hand, and R = nothing, R1 = H and R2 = OH or OCH3 on the other hand; and X<-> represents an anion of an inorganic or organic acid, or nothing, and the corresponding compound is then a free base, as well as the addition salts of the free bases of formula I with pharmaceutically acceptable acids. Application in cancer treatment.
