METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING DEHYDRATION OF SLURRY

PURPOSE:To control the addition of a polymeric flocculant so that the addition amount of the flocculant to a slurry becomes optimum in order to minimize the water content of a dehydrated cake when the slurry is dehydrated by adding the flocculant to the slurry in a sewage treatment plant. CONSTITUTION:A flocculant is injected in a slurry supply pipe 3 by a flocculant injection pump 6 to perform flocculation reaction and, thereafter, a slurry is dehydrated by a dehydration means 4 to obtain a filtrate 8. The capillary tube suction time (CST) of the filtrate 8 is measured by a CST measuring means 10 and the injection of the flocculant due to a flocculant pump 6 is controlled so as to minimize the CST value.
