An alarm system, especially for motor vehicles, comprising an attitude sensor (10) which is coupled to the device to be protected and the signal from which is stored in a storage device (30, 51) on activating the system, wherein on the occurrence of a determinable deviation of the signal from the attitude sensor (10) from the stored value (reference attitude) an acoustic and/or optical warning device (41, 42) is triggered, characterised in that, a low pass filter (55) is arranged between the attitude sensor (10) and the warning device (41, 42).
