PURPOSE:To make at possible to change a helix type traveling-wave tube into a high frequency type one and reduce its size by combining the plural number of dielectric substrates with a metallic film consisting of desired line width and pitch on its surface, connecting the metallic film electrically, and bonding the contact area of each substrate. CONSTITUTION:A linear metallic film 5 is provided on the surface of a dielectric substrate 4 at a desired line width and pitch. A trigonal prism is formed by combing for example, three sheets of these substrates into a set, while placing the surface provided with linear metallic film inward. A conductive joint section 6 is provided at each contact section of the linear metallic film using conductive materials and a bonding section 7 is provided at each contact section outside the trigonal prism using insulating materials. This process can maintain the dimensional accuracy of a simulated helix by means of the linear metallic film. As a result, even when the helix period is very short and even when a traveling-wave tube is deformed in any shape, the traveling-wave tube can be changed into a high frequency type one and be made compact without causing any deterioration in its characteristics. |
