<p>A multi-responder telephone apparatus includes a talking machine for providing useful information to subscribers as to changed numbers, or the like, having a plurality of information tracks. Ten of those tracks contain zones for transmitting digits. An additional signalling track contains recorded coded signals for indicating the zone or sub-zone being read. A plurality of simulated subscriber circuits are connected to pairs of line wires for receiving telephone calls. The reading heads for the information tracks are connected in parallel with the simulated subscriber circuits. Each simulated subscriber circuit includes electronic switches for connecting one of the information track reading heads to the pair of wires linked to simulated subscriber circuit, under the control of a selector which is controlled by a translator with memory. The reading head of the signalling track is connected to a circuit which responds to received audibly coded signals and emits command signals to the translators. For each order signal received, the memory circuits individually deduce which electronic switch is to be closed. Each simulated subscriber circuit includes a ringing current detector which operates and thereafter releases the selector at a predetermined moment during a reading of the tracks.</p> |
