Antibiotic C-14919 E-1 and antibiotic C-14919 E-2 are manufd. by fermn. with Nocardia strain C-14919. Thus a preculture was inoculated into 100 L pH 6.5 medium contg. mannitol 5, dry yeast 3, MgCl2 0.5, and CaCO3 0.1 % and incubated at 26≦̸for 18 h, then at 24≦̸for 106 h, with shaking and aeration. The broth was filtered and extd. with EtOAc and the ext. concd. and chromatographed on silica gel. Yield was 10 g E-1 and 6.8 g E-2.
