PURPOSE:To sequentially print while only a part of a pattern is being changed, by a partial printer capable of being sequentially changed over wherein print cylinders each having a plurality of plates for partial printing on its circumferential surface are provided, and a mechanism is arranged for adjusting, during operation of the printer, phases of the print cylinders and rubber barrels with the phase of rollers applied with an ink being fixed. CONSTITUTION:A printer 1 that comprises a paper feeder 3 for feeding a web 2, four sets of printing units 4 for coloring four different colors, a dryer 5, a cooler 6 and folder 7 is provided with the printer 8 for partial printing. This printer 8 has a harmonic drive type differential mechanism, and when motors 43 are rotated while the printer is in operation, differential shafts 31 are rotated, and the phases of the rubber barrels 10 and the print cylinders 11 are changed. As the rollers 19 are directly connected with driving gears 26, their phase will not be changed. Thus, when the motor 43 is rotated as required, due to the phase change of the print cylinders 11 the second and third partial patterns can be printed on the same place. |
