PURPOSE:To simplify the defective track processing and to reduce the time, by storing the number of defective tracks up to the cylinder and correcting the objective seek address, when the defective track or seek error is detected. CONSTITUTION:Floppy disc drives 6-9 are connected and they are controlled with a microprogram of a processor unit 3. In this case, the number of defective tracks up to the present head position at seek operation is stored in a memory unit 4 every discs 6-9 and the seek direction is read in by performing a comparison and operation 5 between the present head location and the objective seek address, and the seek direction is stored in the memory 4. Further, the objective seek address is corrected with the number of stored defective tracks depending on the stored seek direction and the seek operation is executed with the corrected address. |
