PURPOSE:To execute stable, safe and sure gas venting by providing gas venting oblique grooves on the respective inside surfaces of movable metal mold and a stationary metal mold in opposite directions in a manner as to intersect with each other and communicating both ends thereof with a cavity and a safe cavity. CONSTITUTION:When molten steel is force-fed through a cross gate, it flows into a cavity 3. Thence, it is ejected toward the obliquely intersecting and opposing gas venting oblique grooves 5, 6 provided to a movable metal mold 1 and a stationary metal mold 2. In this case, while the molten metal plunging into the grooves 5, 6 is advancing toward the outlet side, it intersects and collides each other many times in the inside surface parts and the collided parts diagonally cross toward the advancing direction and rush forth while acting in the twisting directions. The rushing forces are mutually suppressed by this, whereby the excessive cooling differences between the metallic mold contact surfaces and the inner side are eliminated and the gushing out of the molten metal is prevented. |
