PURPOSE:To improve the capacity of an outdoor unit by designing a drain to be of a compulsive drain discharging system so that the installation position of the outdoor unit is unrestricted with respect to its location. CONSTITUTION:The indoor unit S has a centrifugal electric fan 14 and an annular heat exchanger 15 in a box member 11 which is flat in the vertical direction and has a disc-shaped configuration. Within this indoor unit S, there are arranged a drain pan 17, a drain tank 19 and a pump 20 below the heat exchanger 15. In this case, the suction port of the pump 20 is inserted into the drain tank 19 through another pipe 21 whereas the exhaust port is connected to the outdoor unit T located on a roof Z through a pipe 22. With this construction, the water 26 condensing on the surface of the heat exchanger 15 and gethering in the drain tank 19, each time reaching a predetermined level, is pumped compulsively outdoors. Therefore, the drain water 26 can be exhausted anywhere. Accordingly, the outdoor unit can be located anywhere, and thus, the capacity of the outdoor unit can be enhanced. |
