The osteosynthesis plate is used in conjunction with a flexible pin to set a fracture of the femur. The upper surface of the plate is divided into three sections, the first (1) being bifurcated to form two feet (12a,12b) each with a hole formed in it to receive fixing screws. The central section of the plate (b) has a toothed surface against which the lower end of the pin bears. The other end (c) of the plate is flattened and rounded and has an elongate slot (11) formed in it with its axis running in the longitudinal direction of the plate. This hole receives a fixing instrument when the plate is being implanted.
