The load switches are located at the base of a housing beneath an electromagnet with the winding mounted on an insulating frame. The switches are actuated by the movement of a hinged armature. One end of the winding is connected to a thin spring strip anchored at one end in the frame of the coil with the other end engaging in a slide. This forms a part of the manual switch on the upper face of the case whilst the lower face is used for mounting. A bend in the strip contacts a plate which forms the external connection to the control winding. The slide may be located in three click stop positions, the first two with stops on the case which provide normal operation and isolation of the control winding. In the third position the slide rests against the armature, closing the contacts, and compressing a spring.
