<p>The sleeve (3) contracts under the application of heat, having an adhesive bore lining (4), and being used to seal the joint between a cable (1) and a reducing conical terminal fitting (2) esp. between the sheathing of the joint between a traction eyelet and a telephone cable. The adhesive (4) fixes the sleeve to the cable and the eyelet (2) once the sleeve contracts, and is set in relation to the sleeve end so that the bore sleeve material (5) comes into contact with cable (1). The adhesive (4) may be set in at both ends to leave denuded annular sleeve areas in each case. The arrangement avoids sleeve distortions due to the combined effects of the shrinking and the eyelet taper.</p> |
