The cleaner has two tubes (1,2) with end stops (3,4,5). One end stop (4) has a central bore so that the inner tube (2) can slide within it. The outer tube (1) has grooves in its lower end so that a steel cable (6) can pass through it, the amount of slack and the loop size of the cable being determined by the position of the inner tube which is attached to the cable. Paper is laid on the droppings, the cable loop is placed on the paper, then the inner tube is raised tightening the loop and picking up both droppings and paper while keeping the cable clean.
