PURPOSE:To prevent a lamp from darkening completely untill it is restarted, by providing a filament at one end of a light emitting tube then heating the filament untill it is started again. CONSTITUTION:Predetermined amount of mercury and proper amount of the start assistant gas or argon is sealed in a silicon light emitting tube 1 of high pressure mercury lamp where main electrodes 2, 3 are arranged at both ends while a filament 5 made of tungsten is connected to one main electrode 2. Main electrodes 2, 3 are connected through leads 8, 9 to a lighting device 12. The filament 5 connected to the main electrode 2 is connected through a lead 10 to a heating circuit incorporated in the lighting device 12. |
