<p>The electrical power generating system includes one or several hydraulic wheels which are turned by the action of waves on the sea or by a current of water. Each wheel has between three and eight valve blades which may be either flat or curved. The blades may be parallel or perpendicular to the wheel axis. The wheels may be mounted in a line, or alternatively staggered so that not all are powered at once, and are supported on floats and retained by anchors. Each is coupled to an alternator or other electrical generator via a speed control device. Each wheel also has a triangular hood mounted so as to protect it against the effects of the swell.</p> |
