PURPOSE:To enable the processing of registration even for a host computer in failure, by detecting such as a line failure in a cash register and processing the data as off-line if the failure continues for a given time, and processing it as on-line simultaneous with the line restores. CONSTITUTION:A cash register is connected to a host computer (not shown) via a connecting terminal 30a, and if a failure takes place at the host, an off-line detecting circuit 31 outputs an off-line display to a CPU10. The CPU10 operates a monitor timer 32 and displays it on a display circuit 70 to inform it to the operator. In this case, when a data is inputted from a key board 60, the CPU 10 makes the input data ineffective and no processing is made. If the failure is not restored in a given time, the monitor timer completes the operation to reach 0, when the CPU detects this situation, the input data does not fall into a line control circuit 30, but outputted to a printer 50 and stored in a memory 20 to execute the registration processing. |
