The corner areas on the underside of the worktop lid of the appliance are fitted with hooks (8) which can be pushed through openings (9) in the back wall (1) of the appliance while the front corners on the top edge (11) of the front wall (2) of the appliance are fitted with swivel-mounted bolts whose bolt claws (15) in the locked position clamp with their forked parts (16,17) a rail (17) fixed to the underside of the lid to the upper edge of the front wall of the appliance. After placing the lid on the appliance housing the bolt levers are operated to swivel the bolt into the locking position where the two forked parts of each bolt claw grip like tongs round the second rail along the front underneath edge of the lid as well as round the upper edge of the front wall of the appliance.
