Apparatus for forming liquid injection molded parts from a liquid molding composition comprises a drive motor (90); a molding barrel (18) with a longitudinal cavity terminating in a forward opening (36) through which molding composition can pass to a mould (not shown) and a rear opening (28) adjacent to the motor (90). A screw (80) is movable in the longitudinal cavity in the molding barrel. A linkage (92) is connected to and supported by the drive motor (90) to drive the screw. Sealing plates (120, 122) mounted on the rear opening of the molding barrel (18) cooperate with a plastics disc (150) to prevent liquid molding composition from passing out of rear of the molding barrel. The disc (150) may be omitted, The feed of liquid molding composition to the molding barrel (18) through a line (10) is controlled by a valve arrangement comprising a ball valve which is activated by a pivotable flange, Figs. 5 - 7 (not shown). <IMAGE> |
