Sound insulating wall built from concrete slabs - which have slotted edges to facilitate interlocking and form uneven surface giving decorative effect

The wall is constructed from specially shaped concrete slabs (10) which are rectangular and have three equally spaced slots (13a-14c) in each of the longer edges. The width of each slot is slightly greater than the slab thickness. The wall is constructed from these slabs by fitting two slabs together so that the central slot (14b) of one slab engages the central slot of the slab below it with the planes of the slabs at 90 deg. to each other. A row of crosses is thus formed with the arms of the crosses at 45 deg. to the plane of the wall. A second course of slabs is then laid with the outer slots (14a) engaging the outer slots (13c) of the course below. A pattern is formed which in the plan view looks like a lazy tongs.
