PURPOSE:To enable etching with an acidic aqueous soln. after exposure and development and to form an image safely and advantageously by laying a photosensitive layer on a layer of polyester resin prepared from aliphatic diol contg. tertiary nitrogen and aliphatic or aromatic dibasic acid. CONSTITUTION:A coating is prepared consisting of 30-80wt% polyester of diol represented by the formula [where each of R1 and R2 is 1-10C alkyl or cycloalkyl, R1 and R2 may form a ring together and R3 is 1-5C alkyl or -CH-N(R1R2)] and aliphatic or aromatic dibasic acid and of a 20-70wt% colorant such as TiO2, ultramarine, other inorg. pigment or carbon black with light and heat resistances or further contg. additives such as a dispersant for the colorant. The coating is applied to a support and dried. On the resulting colored resin layer a diazo photosensitive layer is formed to obtain an image forming material. After imagewise exposing the material, the photosensitve layer is developed, and the resin layer is etched with an acidic aqueous soln. of <=7pH such as an inorg. or org. acid soln. to obtain a colored image. |
