PURPOSE:To enable to identify the type of opposing device automatically, corresponding to the versatility of transmission system, by transmitting the type of equipment indication request signal if the reception side can respond to the transmission mode at the transmission side and identifying the types of equipments automatically. CONSTITUTION:At the transmission side, a group identifying signal GI is detected, and before the determination of transmission mode, to identify the types of equipments at the reception side, an equipment type indication request signal MSC in which the transmission side requests or the reception side requests the designation of transmission mode corresponded separately, is transmitted. At the reception side, based on this, when the transmission side has the requested function or the transmission mode possible for another correspondence can be designated, a group acknowledge signal GA is returned as the response signal including the information and of not contained, the signal GA is not returned and the group indication signal GI is again transmitted after a given time. In this case, the transmission of video information is made through the standard transmission control means. |
