The invention relates to the chemical technology of polymer substances which uses the method of a non-equilibrium polycondensation at the liquid/gas phase interface. The fibrids of synthetic chain heteropolymers are produced by non-equilibrium polycondensation of an aqueous-alkaline solution of acylatable bifunctional compounds, which is introduced into the reaction zone as a continuous stream in the direction of the horizontal plane of this reaction zone, with dicarboxylic acid dichlorides introduced into the reaction zone in the vertical plane, with supports, where the contact with the catalyst of said reactants takes place in crosscurrent under transverse strain conditions. The apparatus used for carrying out the novel process for the production of fibrids of synthetic chain heteropolymers contains a vertically arranged cylindrical body comprising a reaction chamber (2), in which introduction means for introducing the liquid phase of starting materials into this chamber as a continuous stream directed in the horizontal plane of the reaction chamber (2) are present, and a generation chamber (3), accommodated below said reaction chamber (2), for generating the gas phase of starting materials, and discharge means provided in the upper part of the reaction chamber (2) for discharging the reaction products from the reaction chamber (2). <IMAGE>
