The rotary heat pump has a cylindrical housing with an air filled uoper chamber (a) and a lower chamber (d) filled with a heating liquid. In the upper chamber is a ring of cylindrical heat transfer vessels (9) connected to heating members (9) in the liquid below. The upper vessels are in two sections, each with two reciprocating pistons (i/I, i/2) inside, respectively operating with an expansion valve (P) at the level of the upper chamber and a compression valve (9) at the level of the lower chamber to control the flow of a heat transfer medium between the upper vessels and their heating members below. The pistons are reciprocated when a guide rail (K) inside the top rotates about an axis formed by a vertical rotary shaft (h) down the centre of the housing. The reciprocating pistons also compress and expand the air inside the upper vessels which have air inlet and outlet openings (t,u) at their bottoms.
|
