Electric razor with touch-control switch - automatically stopping and starting drive motor as razor is put down or picked up

The razor has the drive motor switched ON and OFF via a touch-control switch incorporated in the outside of the razor casing, with at least two contact zones in the parts of the casing which are gripped by the user. Pref. the front and back of the razor casing incorporate large surface area contact zones with the switch inserted in the supply circuit for the drive motor causing it to be started or stopped as the razor is picked up or put down. Two additional contact zones are provided in the two side faces of the razor casing and are coupled electrically to the two former contact zones, so that the switch for the motor is similarly operated when the razor is held differently for trimming longer hair. All the contact zones can be provided as metal inserts incorporated in the casing. The switch prevents unnecessary energy wastage, e.g. for a battery-operated razor.
