The procedure, esp. for a component made from layers (101,102) of materials with different degrees of hardness and with one layer having a substantial degree of elasticity, consists of making a cut in two successive stages. The first cut is made in the harder layer of material (102) and the second cut in the elastic layer, using a reduced pressure. In addition, the first cut is made behind a given line, and the second one on the line. Where the component is in the form of a hard rod or bar covered with a supple elastomer material, the rod or bar is first cut with one implement and the elastomer covering with a second implement acting in the opposite direction.
