PURPOSE:To realize rewriting onto a magnetic recording surface for the information necessary for a control of a large quantity of information recorded on a light beam recording surface, by installing a light beam recording layer on one surface and a magnetic recording layer on the other surface, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 21 contains a supporter 22 made of the synthetic resin or the like, a light beam recording surface comprising a light beam recording layer 23 and a transparent protecting layer 24 formed on a surface of the supporter 22 plus a magnetic recording surface comprising a magnetic recording layer 25 formed on the other surface of the supporter. Such medium 21 rotates along with a rotary shaft 26, and an optical head 27 is opposite to the light beam recording surface to carry out a record/reproduction. While a magnetic head 30 is opposite to the magnetic recording surface to carry out a record/reproduction. Thus both a high-density recording through a light beam recording and rewritable magnetic recording can be carried out with just one recording medium. |
