Preferably, the first colour image is also prepared by the process of Specification 1296709, and further images may also be formed similarly optionally after removing the light-sensitive layer used to prepare the previous image. The images may be fixed by imbibing dye from the powder into the substrate or into a carrier (applied as part of the powder) which is simultaneously fixed to the substrate. The first colour image may be protected during the application of the light-sensitive layer by hardening the latter or by overcoating with "an isolating layer". The multi-colour images may be used as colour printing proofs.
