1532319 Diketones as polymer stabilizers RHONE-POULENC INDUSTRIES 24 Nov 1976 [10 May 1976] 49009/76 Addition to 1511621 Heading C3K [Also in Division C2] Stabilized polymer compositions comprise a vinyl chloride polymer and, based on the weight of polymer, 0À1-5% of at least one organic metal salt which is a stabilizer for vinyl chloride polymers and (b) 0À05-5% of one or more compounds where one of R 1 and R 3 is optionally substituted alkyl or alkenyl of more than but not 30 carbon atoms and the other is defined similarly or is H or optionally substituted C 1-24 alkyl or alkenyl, C 7-36 aralkyl, aryl or cycloaliphatic of up to 13 carbon atoms, the latter containing optionally carbon-carbon double bonds; and R 2 is H or C 1-4 alkyl or alkenyl optionally containing -O-, -COO or -CO- chain members or is a radical -COR 4 or -COOR 4 , where R 4 is optionally substituted C 1-24 alkyl or alkenyl. The diketone (b) actually exemplified has the formula and is used to stabilize polyvinyl chloride. |
