<p>The raw sludge, for heating to pasteurisation temperature, is continuously transported through a heat exchanger and then delivered into one of three holding chambers, in which the pasteurisation is carried out batchwise. At the same time, pasteurised sludge from another of the chambers is continuously conducted away through a heat exchanger. In this heat exchanger, cooling is carried out after the pasteurisation in counter-current with the circulated heating medium serving for the heating in the first-mentioned heat exchanger. By means of the process, pasteurisation is possible in an energy-saving manner with particularly low expenditure in terms of apparatus. Working under pressure is not required and an increase in the water content of the sludge does not occur.</p> |
