Each reel disc (4, 6) has two coaxial rings (26, 28, 30, 32), which run on the inside of the reel disc in the axial direction, the radially outer reel disc ring (26, 30) on each reel disc being accommodated on the corresponding radially inner part of the outer edge (10), and the radially inner reel disc ring (28, 32) on each reel disc being accommodated on the radially outer part of the corresponding intermediate ring (14, 16). The reel discs and their reel disc rings serve the purpose of supporting the outer edge of the reel core with respect to a radially inwardly directed bending and of transferring part of all the forces which act in the radial direction on the outer edge of the reel core and bend the latter inwards, for support, onto the intermediate rings. This arrangement withstands the pressure which the wound magnetic tape exerts on the reel core, in particular when there are temperature variations. Use occurs in particular in the case of magnetic tape reels for computers. <IMAGE>
