The present invention relates to an improved method for manufacturing thin-walled articles from crystalline thermoplastic material by thermoforming a web of said material. The method includes forming a web wherein the outer surface regions can act as solidified supportive layers while the core of the web is at a temperature close to but lower than the critical crystalline melting temperature range of said material. The relatively cool outer surface regions of the web are heated prior to thermoforming.
