<p>PURPOSE:To effectively control a rolling mill, by utilizing the average deformation resistance and the friction factor obtained from the forward slip, the rolling load and the measured tension value acting on a material to be rolled, for determining the pass schedule, the roll gap and the roll velocity of plural rolling stands. CONSTITUTION:At continuously rolling a material 4 to be rolled, the material velocity on the run-out side of prescribed rolling stands 1, 2, 3 and the circumferential velocity of each rolling roll 1a, 2a, 3a are detected. The tension acting on the material 4 is measured by a device installed in interstand looper rolls 6, 7, on the run-out side of the rolling mill, or in a coiler 5. The rolling load is measured by the load cells installed in each stand 1, 2, 3. By analyzing the combination of these measured values of forward slip, tension and rolling load, the friction factor between the roll and the material 4 and the average deformation resistance of the material 4 are obtained. The pass schedule of a continuous rolling work, the roll gap and the roll velocity are controlled according to the said average deformation resistance.</p> |
