PURPOSE:To enable a test of the structure of steel products in a short time by immersing the products in a mixed dissolving soln. of hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide to simply etch and dissolve them. CONSTITUTION:Hydrochloric acid is mixed with hydrogen peroxide to prepare a dissolving soln., and steel products are immersed in the soln. The metal is oxidized with the hydrogen peroxide and suddenly reacts with the hydrochloric acid to generate heat. Accordingly, it is unnecessary to heat the soln. When the soln. is used to discriminate carbon steels such as killed steel and rimmed steel, the steels can be discriminated very simple in a short time. |
