Novel propargylthio-nitropyridines of the formula <IMAGE> wherein X is hydrogen or halogen, processes for producing these compounds, as well as compositions containing them, for use in combating pests, particularly for use as ovicides for combating insect pests which do damage by eating, in the field of plant protection.
