The multitube sheath is composed of adjacent and parallel small tubes obtained from two independent and identical woven fabrics which, at regular intervals, are interconnected with one another by weft or warp threads. Each one of these fabrics, for the purpose of simultaneously improving the resistance to expansion perpendicularly to the axis of the small tubes and of improving the filtering power, is composed of two yarns of differing structure: in the direction of the circumference of the small tubes, use is made of polyester yarns with high-tenacity filaments and, in the direction of the axis of the small tubes, use is made of yarns of carded fibre (flock), for example also of polyester. The constancy of the shape, of the resistance to traction and of the filtering power of the individual products is ensured by the thermoforming of the fabrics. <IMAGE>
