PURPOSE:To accomplish the reduction windage as well as to securely provide the cooling passage for the subject ventilating device by a method wherein the shielding plate to be used for covering the space between the tips of adjoining salient-poled magnetic poles, is divided into a plurality of parts and they are installed in the axial direction without a gap and in the radial direction with a gap. CONSTITUTION:The shielding plate 1, to be used for reducing the windage by covering the space between the tips of the adjoining salient-poled magnetic poles 2a and 2b, is divided into a plurality of pieces as covering plate pieces 1a and 1b. Then, overlapping parts are provided on these shielding plate pieces 1a and 1b in such manner that no gap is existing in the axial direction when viewed horizontally and at the same time, they are arranged and fixed by providing an axial clearance. Also, the shielding plate piece may be installed by tilting it to the radial direction. Through these procedures, as the space between the tip points of the magnetic pole is covered, the reducing effect is maintained and besides, the cooling effect can be improved because the cooling air passage is formed. |
