PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of optical fibers made of plastic resin due to oxidation by coating the outside of the fibers with a resin composition and laying layers of a transparent resin composition on the edge faces. CONSTITUTION:The outside of optical fibers made of acrylic resin, styrene resin or other resin is coated with polyamide, polycarbonate or other resin optionally contg. a filler, and layers of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinylidene chloride or other transparent resin are laid on the edge faces. Thus, the deterioration of the optical fibers due to oxidation can be prevented. |
