<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the construction by obtaining a signal of a low side lobe level with introduction of a chirp pulse compression system into an X Y code pulse compression system. CONSTITUTION:Two codes X and Y are subjected to a phase modulation with phase and chirp modulators 3 and 4 to shift the phase of the transmission frequency by 180 deg. between each other according to the signal of an input code while undergoing a linear FM modulation to make the inclination of the frequency reverse in the polarity to each other every one bit of the code in the X system and the Y system of the modulators 3 and 4. A signal thus obtained is synthesized with a synthesizer 5 and transmitted. The signal received is branched into two and separately intoduced into chirp ulse compressors 6 and 7. As the inclination of dispersion property thereof is opposite in the polarity to each other, the compressor 6 only compresses a linear FM modulated wave generated from the modulator 3 and disperses a modulated wave of the modulator 4 while the compressor 7 only compresses the modulated wave of the modulator 4 whereby the code X and the code Y are separated from the signal received. These codes X and Y are further compressed separately with X and Y code pulse compressors 8 and 9 and time side lobes generated at this stage can be eliminated completely by adding the outputs with an adder 10.</p> |
