PURPOSE:To detect whether or not the jetting direction of each ink droplet coincides with a reference jetting direction by using a detecting plate in which a plurality of electrically conductive blocks are placed in a line at regular intervals on an insulated substrate to produce detecting gaps the number of which is equal to that of nozzles. CONSTITUTION:A power source 16 and a current sensor 17 are connected to the detecting plate 12 which comprises the conductive blocks 14 placed in a line at regular intervals on the insulated substrate 13 so as to produce the detecting gaps 15 the number of which is equal to that of the nozzles. The current sensor 17 detects that the current flows to the conductive blocks 14 while each of the ink droplets reach the detection gap 15 of the detection plate 12 being installed on the respective reference flight paths of each droplet simultaneously. By the detection function of the current sensor 17, it is determined that each ink droplet is jetted in the proper direction. Based on this detection, a recording action controlling circuit 18 generates a signal to start recording. |
