PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution and to facilitate the connection by putting an elastic body into a sleeve having corner parts, introducing optical fibers into the corner parts, and pressing the fibers with the elastic body to fix them. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical elastic body 2 made of silicone rubber, ''Teflon '', nylon or the like is put into a metallic sleeve 1 made of copper, iron or the like and, e.g. having a square cross section. Optical fibers 4 are introduced from both inlets of 4 corner parts 3, and the ends are butted. The sleeve 1 except the corner parts 3 is then deformed by pressing in the arrow directions, whereby the fibers 4 are pressed by the body 2 and fixed. Thus, the connection of the fibers 4 can be performed easily with simple constitution. |
