<p>The scaffolding system uses posts, rails and bracings connected by post mounted cup fittings and tapered pins. Each fitting has four 'L' shaped arms cantilevering from a base ring to locate a coaxial head collar. A window for a possible rail fixing is provided in each arm and between pairs of arms. Each rail terminates in short pivotable 'L' shaped tongue, the leg of the tongue being inserted in a cup opening to be secured by a pin. A passage accommodates the pin in the tongue, passing through the tongue angle, and having an inboard face which inclines basally away from the post. The pin bears on the face and against the lower internal collar corner, the collar being sited above the base of face whereby vertical extraction forces tend to wedge the pin in the tongue.</p> |
