ATTENUATOR FOR OPTICAL FIBER TRANSMISSION LINE

PURPOSE:To increase the accuracy of attenuation factor, by providing a parallel flat plate glass having a variable angle of inclination immediately in front of an output optical fiber of an attenuator for optical fiber transmission line. CONSTITUTION:Optical fibers 1 and 10 plus rod lenses 3 and 8 are fixed to be coaxial to each other via c connector plug 2 and a cylinder spring 4. The beams put into the optical fiber 1 are made parallel through the rod lens 3 and attenuated properly through a consecutive attenuator plate 5 and a step attenuator plate 6. These beams are shifted in parallel by a parallel flat plate glass 7 to be put into the optical fiber 10 via the rod lens 8. The angle of inclination of the glass 7 is capable of a fine adjustment by means of the 3-point support mechanism.
