<p>The coin distributor comprises a number of similar mechanisms side by side for the distribution of coins of different denominations. Each mechanism includes a coin stack containing coins. A gap between the base of the stack and a base plate allows a rigid lamella to push out one coin at a time. The rigid lamella is connected to a flexible coupling linked in turn to a crankshaft. Movement of the rigid lamella is normally blocked by a peg passing vertically through it, but this may be removed by the action of an electromagnet. When a motor is operated to rotate the crank once, those mechanisms with the electromagnet operated discharge one coin each. In those mechanisms which are blocked, the flexible coupling absorbs the movement and the coins are unmoved.</p> |
