The pyrotechnic safety relay has a retard body with an entry, outlet, and a circuit giving an outlet signal a set time after receiving an initiating signal at the entry. An emitter gives an initiation signal to the entry. Receivers accept this signal and the body moves relative to both emitters and receivers. This is from one position in which the entry is connected to the emitters and another in which the outlet is connected to the receivers. The body can be made to move or remain fixed.
